Typical isn't it?
Over the Christmas period the UK Government issued some new legislation that extends the requirement for companies and LLPs (Limited Liability Partnerships) to include certain information in their electronic documents and on websites.
While companies have been used to including their name, place of registration, company number and registered office address on letterheads and invoices this information is now required on emails and websites.
The legislation came into effect on the 1st January 2007 and there are fines for companies that do not show this information.
This is an example of legislation brought in by the Secretary of State, and very likely not debated in Parliament, that is not commonly known about and not publicised widely, I came across it while looking for information about training for accountants for a lecture on businesses and CPD at the college.
How they expect businesses to update websites and email footers during the period between 21st December 2006 and 1st January 2007 is anybody's guess.

It's easy enough to move everything into the middle of the room so that the walls and woodwork can be can be painted but we want to do the ceilings as well and I do not fancy climbing over furniture to do this.
I thought of the garage as an option but then I'd have to clear the junk out of that 1st (why are so many garages full of junk, or is it just mine that is?). A bit of lateral thinking and a search on the web later I came up with an idea.
We are going to put the furniture and contents of cupboards from the spare bedroom into storage and then use that room to store the stuff from the other rooms, one at a time. Then we can redecorate the spare bedroom last of all...
Looking around there are a few storage facilities in Peterborugh but the one we settled on, and it seems good so far, is 1st Access Self Store in Fengate - a hire of a van and a few friends later the furniture is in storage and I'm getting covered in paint splashes.
